China is preparing to showcase its latest anti-ship missiles, combat drones and ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons at a parade on September 3, Bloomberg reports.
Satellite images from an Airbus taken on August 9 show armored vehicles, air defense systems, artillery systems, launchers and cruise missiles, according to data from analysts at the Open Nuclear Network in Vienna.
According to the agency, this will be a way to showcase China's military achievements, as well as attract potential arms buyers.
As Tianran Xu, a senior analyst at the Open Nuclear Network , stated , the Chinese army's new weapons incorporate advanced technologies, such as hypersonic systems, to increase "the chances of defeating ship-based air defense systems, and are clearly designed to suppress the US Navy in the Western Pacific."
"Few countries have developed so many anti-ship missiles that cover all imaginable categories," Tianran Xu noted.
He also stressed that such an emphasis on precision strikes and unmanned offensive and defensive capabilities shows that the goal is "winning a high-tech, high-intensity war."
The parade itself, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, is an important event for China and its President Xi Jinping.
It was previously reported that China has developed a high-speed helicopter similar to the American Raider. It was spotted in a video on TikTok.
