China has developed a new high-speed helicopter that visually resembles the American Sikorsky S-97 Raider, Defence Blog reports.
It is noted that the novelty appeared in a video on the Chinese segment of the TikTok network back in April 2025, but only recently has the video attracted widespread attention.
Structurally, the helicopter has a coaxial rotor system paired with a pusher propeller in the tail. This is identical to the Sikorsky S-97 Raider, which was developed as part of the Future Vertical Lift program.
Also similar in layout is the Sikorsky-Boeing SB-1 Defiant X, which is positioned as a replacement for the UH -60 Black Hawk in the US Army. It was also created for the Future Vertical Lift program.
The helicopter, sometimes called the "Future High-Speed Helicopter," is part of China's efforts to research advanced rotorcraft designs.
Aviation analysts noted that the design is closely related to American prototypes, highlighting a trend in which the Chinese defense industry is using technologies first developed abroad.
The characteristics of the new Chinese helicopter have not yet been disclosed. However, it can be assumed that its speed is at least 400 km/h. The Sikorsky S-97 Raider has approximately this level.
It was previously reported that Airbus is testing the new H160M Guépard combat helicopter.
