President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a briefing with journalists that the Israeli Patriot anti-aircraft missile system has been on combat duty in Ukraine for a month, Glavkom reports. According to the president, our country will receive two more such systems from allies in the fall.

As reported by Axios, the Israeli Patriot was decommissioned in April 2024. After that, the Ukrainian side turned to the United States and Israel with a request to transfer it to Ukraine. According to the publication, the decision to transfer was made after lengthy consultations between Kyiv, Washington and Tel Aviv. Before that, the complex underwent maintenance in the United States.

The additional two systems mentioned by the president are expected to come from Germany. As Ukrinform previously reported, Germany intends to transfer two complete Patriot systems to Ukraine. The country's Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed that the first launchers arrived in Ukraine in early September.

According to Militarnyi, in total, Ukraine has already received nine Patriot complexes: three from the USA, three from Germany, one from the Netherlands, one from Romania, and the current Israeli one.

Earlier, President Zelenskyy stated that the first two aid packages under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative will include missiles for Patriot air defense systems and HIMARS rocket systems.
