France is resuming production of SCALP cruise missiles after a 15-year hiatus, Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu announced in a post on the social network X.
"Production of SCALP missiles to equip our forces will resume in 2025, 15 years after our last order. On MBDA UK's site (the company's British division - ed.) in Stevenage with my counterpart John Healy (UK Defense Secretary - ed.), where some of these missiles are produced," the minister wrote and published several photos.

Sebastian Lecornu also noted that the SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles supplied to Ukraine have demonstrated their effectiveness in modern high-intensity combat operations and in decisive situations.
"As a joint venture between France, the UK, Italy and Germany, MBDA is a symbol of Europe's leading defense industry," the French Defense Minister added.
Note that this is an Anglo-French stealthy long-range air-to-surface cruise missile. In France, it is called SCALP-EG, in the UK - Storm Shadow. The manufacturer is the European defense concern MBDA. With a weight of 1,300 kg, it has a warhead weighing 450 kg.
