A group of Ukrainian developers "Wild Hornets" announced that their Sting interceptor drone has broken its own flight speed record. They announced this on their Telegram channel, attaching a video of the drone's flight.
Experts did not announce new figures, but recalled that the previous record exceeded 300 km/h.
"We continue to experiment with STING speed. We broke our record again. The previous one was 315 km/h. We will not reveal new figures. Just listen to the sound," the message says.
Sting is a high-speed drone interceptor with an AI guidance system, designed to effectively intercept enemy Shahed drones. In October 2024, data emerged that Sting can reach speeds of over 160 km/h and can fly at an altitude of about 3 km, while being controlled by an operator through VR goggles.
In the following months, the speed of this drone was increased: in February 2025, the Sting reached 200 km/h during tests, and in August - 315 km/h. During this time, it shot down more than 200 enemy UAVs - more than 78 Shaheds and 127 Gerbers.
