Up to 10% of defense purchases are voluntary, said Ihor Fedirko, executive director of The Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry, in an interview with Ukrinform.

"At the beginning of the war, there were cases when private defense companies received half of their sales precisely through the volunteer movement. Now, of course, this share is smaller, about 10% of defense purchases are volunteer," he said.

Ihor Fedirko also clarified that this does not affect the planning of the production process in any way. This percentage is very volatile - it increases as it "burns": when a tragedy occurs and people begin to actively donate to the front, and falls when the social shock passes.

However, according to the executive director, the advantage of volunteer procurement is its mobility. Therefore, the volunteer movement should not be discounted, it will be around for quite a long time.

Ihor Fedirko also spoke about direct contracts with the military. According to him, this year, allocations for them have increased significantly.

"Brigades and military units are already starting to play a fairly significant role in the overall structure of private procurement. It is difficult to assess this movement yet, since the process is just beginning," he explained.

At the same time, the executive director of the Ukrainian Council of Arms Manufacturers added that enterprises are already opening departments that travel to military units, introduce the military to their products, and negotiate supplies.

It was previously reported that Nova Poshta and the Come Back Alive Foundation raised UAH 309 million for electronic warfare, electronic warfare (EW), and FPV drones for sky defenders in the project "We'll do it, we'll do it. We'll confuse the enemy."
