Special Operation "Web" has become one of the most successful operations of the Security Service of Ukraine on the territory of the occupying country. This was stated by the Head of the SSU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk, in an interview with the "My-Ukraine" TV channel, where he spoke about the technical aspects of the operation.
In particular, he revealed the characteristics of 150 combat FPV drones that were involved during the "Web". According to Malyuk, the UAVs look like ordinary FPVs, but have several communication systems and a warhead of two components of 800 grams each. That is, each drone carried 1600 grams of explosives.
The SSU head noted that a special explosive mixture was used for the operation, which was developed specifically for the "Web". It has a high-explosive effect, allowing it to burn the aircraft's fuselage and explode inside.
The hunting lodges from which the drones were launched were equipped with EcoFlow batteries, solar panels, and other systems that allowed the drones to be continuously powered. According to Vasyl Malyuk, the operation could have taken place in winter, when the outside temperature could drop to minus 40 degrees.
According to the head of the SSU, various problems had to be solved at different stages of the operation. For example, it was necessary to import sanctioned goods into Russia, in particular batteries.
Recall that the special operation " Web" took place on June 1, 2025. The SSU announced the destruction of a third of the enemy's strategic aviation of the Russian Federation by FPV drones, i.e. 41 aircraft.
