The US State Department has approved an agreement to sell aviation ammunition and related equipment to Ukraine for a total of $825 million, according to an official statement from the State Department.

According to Ukraine's request, up to 3,350 Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) missiles and the same number of integrated GPS/INS navigation systems will be purchased. The package will also include missile containers, launch pylons, spare parts, consumables, weapons software, flight planning equipment, training aids, technical documentation, transportation, and technical and logistical support services.

"This proposed sale will improve Ukraine’s capability to meet current and future threats by further equipping it to conduct self-defense and regional security missions. Ukraine will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces," the US State Department said in a statement.

The procurement will be financed by contributions from Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and the US Foreign Military Financing Program. The prime contractors will be Zone 5 Technologies and CoAspire.

The agreement does not involve the deployment of additional US personnel to Ukraine. The final contract value will depend on the final technical requirements, budgetary decisions, and the terms of the sales agreement.

The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the Trump administration has approved the sale of 3,350 ERAM missiles to Ukraine. According to the source, the deliveries are expected to take place within six weeks.
