MSM North America, a subsidiary of the global Czechoslovak Group (CSG), has won a contract from the US Army to design, build and commission a state-of-the-art large-caliber explosives filling plant in North America, the company said in a press release.

This enterprise is already called the Future Artillery Complex (FAC). It will be located in Iowa, and the contract itself between MSM North America and the US Department of Defense was signed on August 15. Its cost is up to 632 million US dollars.

The new plant will provide explosive loading of 36,000 155 mm artillery shells per month. It is noted that the plant will become a key pillar of combat readiness of the United States and its allies. Production will start in September 2029.

"This project highlights the global scale of CSG and its ability to contribute to strengthening the defense readiness of our allies. I am proud that CSG's technical expertise and strategic support helped achieve this victory, which opens up new opportunities for MSM North America to develop in the US market," said Michal Strnad, owner and chairman of the Board of Directors of Czechoslovak Group (CSG).

Defense reminds that the Czechoslovak Group (CSG) is a group of companies that at one time was able to buy up key defense production facilities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. At the same time, it has production facilities in Greece, Serbia, Spain, Germany, the USA, etc. The Armed Forces of Ukraine use its equipment, for example, the "Neptun" missile system or the "Bohdana" self-propelled guns, which are based on the Tatra chassis, the production of which belongs to CSG.

In addition, CSG restores Soviet tanks and infantry fighting vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the company's enterprises produces self-propelled guns "Dana" and "Dita". CSG also produces 155-mm artillery shells, and also carries out significant supplies of 155-mm artillery shells and other large-caliber ammunition for Ukraine.

The company also has a project to produce ammunition in Ukraine together with the company "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles". Read more in the article: Ammunition and contract famine. What about Ukrainian production of 155-mm ammunition?
