The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has already allowed more than 25 samples of Ukrainian unmanned aerial interceptor systems to be operated in units. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
According to the agency, many of these UAVs serve as hunters for enemy strike drones, although the characteristics of the developments have not yet been reported.
In addition, this year, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine allowed more than 80 new models of domestically produced drones with a fiber-optic control channel to be operated in the Defense Forces, which makes such drones resistant to electronic warfare.
"The Ministry of Defence is focusing more efforts and resources on the development and production of effective means of destruction, which are critically needed today. This includes, in particular, UAVs with a fiber-optic control channel and drones that intercept enemy reconnaissance and strike drones," said First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havrylyuk.
Such drones can carry different combat loads and hit enemy targets at different depths of the front. At the same time, mass production and use of fiber-optic drones in the army began this year.
We will remind you that on the night of August 21, almost 50 Russian UAVs were shot down in the Kyiv region thanks to interceptor drones. According to the head of the Kyiv OVA, Mykola Kalashnyk, the enemy drones were intercepted by hunters from the "Clear Sky" project.
