YouTube once again topped the rankings of the most popular platforms for viewing on smart TVs in April. According to a new report from Nielsen, the Google service accounted for 12.4% of the time users spent watching content on TVs.

YouTube remains the most popular platform for viewing on TV for the third consecutive month, with the service receiving the largest share of user time this time. As for the other participants in the ranking, their positions remained unchanged for the first time since Nielsen tracking began in 2023.

The top five also includes Disney, which owns April's most popular series, Grey's Anatomy, Paramount with the biggest gain from the previous month, as well as NBC Universal and Netflix.

As a reminder, in February, reports emerged that more and more users were starting to watch YouTube on TVs, making smartphones the primary platform. This also aligns with the company's vision, which is preparing an update that will allow YouTube to display content from other streaming services.

Podcasts, which are actively published on YouTube, also help in this regard. According to Google, they are already watched by more than 1 billion people every month.
