The YouTube Music streaming service has received a revamped player design on Android and iOS. Among the changes are the relocation of many playback controls, such as switching between audio and video modes, displaying lyrics, etc., writes 9to5Google.
The most noticeable changes are in the relocation of the audio/video switcher and the bottom menu, which allowed you to quickly enable lyrics, see similar songs, and see what tracks will play next. All additional elements have been moved to the control carousel, which is now also located below the main play/pause and back/forward buttons, rather than above them.
At the very bottom of the player, where the "Next," "Lyrics," and "Similar" buttons used to be, there's now just one element that immediately displays the radio station the song is playing from. By swiping over it, YouTube Music users will be able to see which tracks will play next.
The new YouTube Music player design is now rolling out to users around the world. Since the update is server-side, there is no need to update the app via Google Play.
