Meta is working on a subscription search tool with X in Threads

- 10 April, 11:33 AM

Since Elon Musk acquired Twitter, firstly, several competing social networks have appeared, and secondly, many users have joined them. Searching for people you previously followed is not always convenient. Especially when there are hundreds of such subscriptions, and you would like to save them, for example, in Threads.

9to5Mac reports that Meta is working on a way to search for subscriptions with X in Threads. And let's just say that this is not the most convenient or fastest process, as the X API has many limitations. However, it will allow you to avoid manual searches, or at least partially eliminate the need for them.

First, you need to export your data from X: open X and go to settings; go to the Settings and privacy menu and select Your account ; click Download an archive of your data and wait for the corresponding email with a link to download the archive. This can take up to three days.

From the archive, you will need the following.js file, which you will then need to upload to Threads.

This functionality is currently in beta testing and not every user has access to this tool. However, if everything works as expected, it won't be long before it's rolled out more widely.
