Western Digital has announced a new 26TB WD Red Pro hard drive designed for network attached storage (NAS).

This drive uses Conventional Magnetic Recording (CMR) technology, which provides high write speeds and avoids the latency inherent in SMR technology. The hard drive has a spindle speed of 7200 rpm, a cache of 512 MB, and a maximum SATA data transfer rate of 272 MB/s, optimized by the use of OptiNAND technology.

WD Red Pro is also optimized for RAID, minimizing the risk of data loss. The drive also features anti-vibration technology that uses internal sensors to reduce the effects of vibration. The drive has a mean time between failures of 2.5 million hours and supports data transfer rates of up to 550 TB per year.

This hard drive is designed to handle large amounts of data, such as 8K video, Blu-Ray backups, and other resource-intensive tasks. The WD Red Pro is priced at $569.99.
