Samsung is currently actively developing the new One UI 8 interface based on Android 16. Open beta testing of the system began at the end of May on the Galaxy S25 flagships, and in July the first devices with a stable version of One UI 8 were released - the foldable smartphones Fold 7, Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE.
In August, Samsung announced that it was expanding the beta program to other models. In particular, the flagships of the Galaxy S24 series, Flip 6 and Fold 6 have already received the One UI 8 beta firmware, while the Galaxy S23 series smartphones, as well as the Fold5, Flip5, A36, A55, A35 and A54 models will receive the beta update in September. The Tab S10 series tablets will also receive the beta in September.
In addition to the official information, it became known that Samsung has expanded internal testing of the One UI 8 firmware based on Android 16 to an even wider range of Galaxy devices. As SammyFans reports, internal test builds are already available for many smartphones and tablets, including those not participating in the official beta program.
Among the flagship S-series smartphones, One UI 8 is currently being tested on the Galaxy S23 (including the S23 FE), Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S21 FE models. In the foldable lineup, internal beta builds have been spotted on the Galaxy Fold 5, Flip 5, Z Fold 4, and Z Flip 4.
Among mid-range devices, the update is being tested on the Galaxy A56, A55, A54, A36, A35, A26, A73, A33, and Galaxy M34.
In the tablet segment, One UI 8 is being tested on the Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy Tab S9, and the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro model.
Internal testing will allow the company to accelerate the rollout of the stable version of One UI 8 after the beta program ends. It is currently unknown whether Samsung will later launch beta testing of the new firmware for all of the aforementioned models.
The full official list of Galaxy devices that will receive the stable version of One UI 8 is expected to be wider.
