Chinese company vivo has released its first mixed reality headset, the Vision, which is already available for testing in the brand's stores in China. The device looks very similar to the Apple Vision Pro, but will cost much less.

The headset features a curved glass cover, downward-facing cameras, interchangeable light blocks, eight soft-touch earpad options, a knit strap, and an external aluminum battery. The new product supports 1.5° eye tracking and gesture navigation.

In terms of technical specifications, the vivo Vision even surpasses the Vision Pro. It is equipped with two 8K micro-LED displays with a resolution of 3840×3552 pixels per eye — more than Apple. The viewing angle is 180°, and the weight is only 398 grams compared to 650 for the competitor.

The device runs on the new OriginOS Vision system with a minimum latency of 13 ms. Users can record 3D video, spatial photos and audio, as well as view content on a virtual screen up to 120 inches. The headset is powered by a Qualcomm processor — Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2.

The price of the new product will be about $1400, while the Apple Vision Pro starts at $3499. Pre-orders are already available, but vivo has not yet announced when the headset will go on sale.
