Legendary Japanese game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, who created The Legend of Zelda and will produce the film adaptation of the famous game series, has shared an update on the upcoming film and revealed who will play the main roles.
Miyamoto revealed on social media that Zelda will be played by a little-known English actress, Beau Bragason, who has not previously had high-profile roles. The role of Link has been given to 16-year-old Englishman Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, for whom The Legend of Zelda will also be his first potentially big film.
Meanwhile, Miyamoto said that the film will premiere in theaters on May 7, 2027, although it was previously reported that the film would be released on March 26 of the same year.
It is also known that the director of the film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda will be Wes Ball, best known for his work on the Maze Runner trilogy and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
In addition to Miyamoto, the film will also be produced by Avi Arad, who produced Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and even participated in the failed film adaptation of Borderlands and the slightly better adaptation of Uncharted.
