Ubisoft announced during the Gamescom 2025 exhibition that the online shooter The Division 2 will receive the Survivors survival mode, like in the first part. At the same time, the studio revealed some details about the mobile project in the series.

The Division 2: Survivors is currently in the early stages of development, led by Magnus Jansen, creative director and veteran of The Division since the original game's release.

"The Division 2: Survivors is as much your baby as it is ours, and we strive for transparency during its development. Clear communication and community involvement are a focus as we build the new experience, and we will be closely involving you as we move forward on the development journey," said Executive Producer Julian Garity.

Ubisoft promises that more details about the new mode will be coming soon, but hasn't revealed even an approximate date for when the update will be available in the game. However, the company has shared the first concept art and logo for Survivors.

A similar mode, called Survival, was in the first game. It required players to venture into hostile and brutal blizzard conditions and survive as long as possible while collecting all the resources they found along the way.

Ubisoft also shared new details about the free-to-play mobile MMORPG shooter The Division Resurgence. The game will take place a few months after the finale of The Division 1 in Manhattan and will serve as a bridge to The Division 2.

The company says that, like with Survivor, a key part of the mobile game will be the community, who will be able to access a closed beta that will begin in September. It will be available on iOS and Android, and you can sign up on the official Division Resurgence website.

Additionally, Ubisoft revealed that The Division 2's second season, The Pact, will begin on September 9. The Strategic Homeland Division will face off against the True Sons, Outcasts, and Hyenas factions, who have formed a pact and are planning something big. The season will also introduce a new open-world activity, Retaliation, that will remain in the game forever and will add new Control Points mechanics, as well as new ways to obtain Exotics.

Season 3, Mutiny, will be released later this year and will add new mechanics for allies and modifiers. Ubisoft will share more details about the update in the coming months.
