Sony has released an update for its flagship headphones WH-1000XM6 and WF-1000XM5. It adds support for the Gemini Live service and the ability to share audio via Fast Pair, reports Android Authority.

Version 3.0 for the WH-1000XM6 and a corresponding update for the WF-1000XM5 allow users to connect multiple devices at once or easily share music and streaming content with friends and family. Fast Pair automatically detects compatible devices nearby and suggests a connection, simplifying the process compared to manual pairing.

This feature is based on Google Audio Share technology, which allows you to stream audio to up to 20 compatible devices simultaneously. Support for Auracast, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and Bluetooth 5.3 ensures stable and high-quality audio transmission. Audio Share was first introduced on Pixel 8 and later smartphones, but other manufacturers, including Xiaomi and Samsung, are also implementing similar features, including Dual Audio for connecting two pairs of headphones.

Gemini Live, also introduced in the update, allows users to have more natural conversations with their voice assistant. The headphones can transmit intonations and pauses in conversation, creating the effect of a live conversation when using voice requests or commands. This makes communicating with the AI more comfortable and interactive.

The update has already started rolling out in several regions, and is expected to be available to all WH-1000XM6 and WF-1000XM5 users by the end of the month.
