Sony has unveiled a plan for using artificial intelligence called Enterprise LLM . The company emphasizes that these technologies should help developers in their creativity, not replace them, and is working with teams to ensure that AI is used ethically and legally, GameSpot reports.
Since 2023, more than 50,000 people in 210 different teams have started using artificial intelligence. Sony employees are using the technology to better integrate it into their daily work, in addition to the usual cases, such as to clarify information or help with writing. In total, the company has tested more than 300 different AI projects, of which more than 50 have already become a regular part of the work.
Sony is working with ethics, legal and privacy teams to ensure the safe and legal use of AI, and is particularly concerned about potential copyright infringement of music and other content.
In addition to this, Sony is also using artificial intelligence to protect the work of creators. To do this, the company is creating a system that can detect when a work has been stolen or used without permission.
Another area where AI is being used is to improve older movies. Thanks to new technologies, Sony is improving the sound and picture quality when playing on the PlayStation 5 using upscaling features.
"Furthermore, we are actively exploring the introduction and use of new tools, such as AI agents that leverage even more advanced technology, to better support employees and help raise productivity and efficiency for the Group as a whole. Going forward, our dedicated departments related to Legal/Privacy, AI Governance, Security, and other areas plan to work together to strengthen our AI infrastructure so that more employees can proactively learn about, share, and implement these technologies across our businesses, within a safe and secure environment," said a recent Sony report.
