Apple is preparing to introduce its first foldable iPhone as early as next year. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the new device will have two key advantages that will set it apart from other foldable smartphones.
The first advantage is the “nearly invisible” crease on the screen. This means that the internal display will have a more seamless appearance without visible crease lines, providing a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. According to Gurman, Apple is aiming to differentiate itself in the market with this feature.
The second advantage is the presence of a higher-quality hinge. While Gurman did not reveal details, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously reported that the hinge will be made of a combination of titanium and stainless steel, which will increase its strength and durability.
In addition, Kuo shared other characteristics of the foldable iPhone: the internal screen will be 7.8 inches, the external screen will be 5.5 inches, the device will be equipped with a dual main camera, one front camera, a power button with Touch ID instead of Face ID, as well as a high-density battery. The thickness of the smartphone is expected to be 4.5 mm when unfolded and about 9-9.5 mm when folded.
