A new Ukrainian game, Sich, a first- or third-person multiplayer online sandbox set in the rebellious world of 17th-century Eastern Europe, has a Steam page. It is being developed by Ukrainian Denys Kornienko.
In Sich, players take on the role of a peasant who works hard for his lord, is humiliated, bullied, and tortured. Tired of oppression, the peasant decides to flee to the vast steppes of southern Ukraine — the Sich. Once among the Cossacks, the peasant buys weapons, learns to use them, and sets off to colonize the eastern lands.
In comments on Reddit, Kornienko noted that there is already a prototype of Sich with a demonstration of the combat system, and the final version of the game will be similar to Rust.
In Sich, players will be able to hunt, gather resources, craft items, and trade with each other. There will also be the opportunity to participate in large-scale battles between players, armies, or clans. Up to 100 participants can be in the world at the same time.
In addition, in Sich, players will be able to choose from a variety of weapons — from muskets and sabers to cannons. Horses, carts, carriages and boats will be available for travel. Anyone who wants to will be able to become a commander and form their own army. At the beginning of the game, you will need to decide on a nation: Ukrainian Cossacks, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Crimean Khanate, Ottoman Empire or Kingdom of Sweden.
The game's release date is currently unknown.
