Ayrton Senna's racing helmet, worn during the 1992 Formula One season, has been sold at RM Sotheby's for $963,700, setting a new world record for a used racing helmet. The previous record was held by Charles Leclerc's helmet from the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix, which sold for $352,315. Hypebeast reports.

This lightweight Shoei X-4 helmet was worn by Ayrton Senna during the 1992 Belgian Grand Prix. He stopped mid-qualifying to help driver Eric Coma after a serious accident. Senna ran out of his car, turned off Coma's car, and held his head until paramedics arrived. Many believe that this is what saved his life.

The helmet features Senna's signature yellow design with Marlboro, Hugo Boss, Shell and Nacional logos. It retains the original KTEL radio system, the dark blue Honda stripe on the visor and the special chin cutout. Its authenticity is confirmed by the 2025 technical report and old race photos.
