Official: Samsung Project Moohan XR headset to debut on October 21, 2025
Samsung has announced that it will hold a special Worlds Wide Open event on October 21, 2025, where it will first reveal the details of its highly anticipated XR headset, Project Moohan. It will be the first product built on Android XR, a new mixed reality platform that the company is developing in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm.
Samsung describes Moohan as "the first breakthrough product for Android XR" that should demonstrate the true potential of XR technologies. The headset is positioned as a device that combines the practicality of everyday use with new formats of entertainment and work in virtual and mixed environments. Journalists were able to test the first prototypes of the headset in late 2024, but now the company is ready for a full launch.
By the way, a recent leak revealed almost all the specifications of the headset, as well as its official name. So all that remains to be learned is the new product's features, availability plans, and price.
Project Moohan's main competitor will be the Vision Pro, but Apple is already preparing an updated version of its headset with a more powerful chip. In addition, the company is reportedly shifting its focus to developing smart glasses, postponing work on a lightweight version.
