According to previous information, Samsung plans to introduce its new foldable smartphones Galaxy Fold 7 and Galaxy Flip 7 in mid-2025. However, it was not yet known what version of software these devices will receive. Now it is reported that it will be the next version of One UI.
According to new data from Sammobile, these smartphones will be equipped with the latest Android 16 operating system and One UI 8.0 interface out of the box. Usually, new foldable Galaxy models receive the One UI version x.1.1. Such as One UI 6.1.1 in the Fold 6 and Flip 6 models. However, due to the long delay in the One UI 7.0 update, Samsung seems to be releasing the Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7 this year with the next version of the interface – 8.0.
Google is expected to release the stable version of Android 16 in June or July this year, and Samsung may launch its new foldable devices soon after. One UI 8.0 is reported to integrate major changes and improvements introduced by Google in the new version of Android.
According to recent rumors, Samsung is already testing One UI 8 for other devices, such as the Galaxy S25, which could indicate a faster rollout of the update for existing models. It is currently unknown when Samsung will launch the One UI 8 beta program, but if it does, it is likely that the Galaxy S25 flagships will be the first to receive the program.
