Samsung has released a stable One UI 8 update based on Android 16 for the Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G smartphones. Users in South Korea were the first to receive the update: for the A53, it has the firmware number GYI2, for the A33 - GYI3. The update is expected to become available in other regions in the coming days, writes SamMobile.
You can check for the update in your device's settings. For beta testers, the package size is about 160 MB, while for regular users it can be several gigabytes.
What's new in One UI 8:
- updated design of the interface and system elements;
- improvements in Samsung branded applications;
- new personalization options;
- optimizing performance and security.
The update also includes the September 2025 security patch.
While One UI 8 has not yet completed its global rollout, Samsung is already working on One UI 8.5. The release is expected to take place after the Galaxy S26 launch, and both Galaxy A53 and A33 models will also receive this update.
As a reminder, in recent weeks, several other Samsung smartphones have received One UI 8, including the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A34, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 lines, including the FE model. Samsung also recently started distributing the stable version of One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch7.
