Capcom has announced Resident Evil Requiem - release scheduled for February 2026

Capcom officially unveiled Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth installment in the series, at Summer Game Fest 2025. The game will be released on February 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The trailer starts off as a normal office scene, but then the series' familiar tension and oppressive atmosphere sets in. The game will take place in the missile-ravaged Raccoon City, where the story of Resident Evil 2 and 3 took place.

According to insider Dusk Gollem, Resident Evil Requiem should be the conclusion of the story that began in the original Resident Evil 1 and at the same time the beginning of a new story that will change the status quo in the game world.

The main character is FBI agent Grace Ashcroft, who investigates an incident at a hotel related to her mother's murder. Capcom promises a combination of psychological horror and fast-paced action, with realistic character facial expressions and high detail - down to the drops of sweat.

Resident Evil 9 appeared in several Capcom leaks in 2022–2023, where it was mentioned under working titles. The game was officially announced at previous showcases, but the company remained silent.
