AMD representatives report that demand for the Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT graphics cards, which went on sale on March 6, 2025, is "truly unprecedented." Now the company's "number one priority" is to restore supplies at the recommended retail price, writes TechSpot.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the graphics cards is $599 for the AMD Radeon 9070 XT and $549 for the Radeon 9070. As is often the case, buying new products at such a price was not easy, and in some cases their cost reached $859. However, despite the higher price, all the cards were sold out on major retail platforms such as Newegg and Best Buy.

During the presentation of the graphics cards, AMD promised "wide availability" of the new products, but high specifications and performance, combined with an attractive price, significantly increased demand. This led to extremely high demand for graphics cards. AMD Corporate Vice President David McAfee commented on the situation during a broadcast on HotHardware.

"The launch of RDNA 4 was really a milestone event for our graphics business. The demand was very, very, very strong all around the world... The biggest thing we are doing quite honestly is ramping supply of Navi 48, very aggressively the demand we saw on day one was really unprecedented and unprecedented across all the price points in the RDNA 4 product portfolio," McAfee said.

He also added that AMD is doing everything it can to ensure that customers can purchase graphics cards at the recommended price. McAfee also noted that the company's retailers and partners are also doing their part to ensure there is sufficient supply at these prices.
