Updated Siri that interacts with apps won't arrive until spring 2026 — Bloomberg
Apple is not planning to introduce an updated version of its voice assistant Siri this year, according to a well-known insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. According to him, the new Siri will be released in the spring of 2026 and will have expanded interaction with applications (App Intents).
According to Gurman, the updated Siri will be able to perform complex actions directly in applications, including leaving comments on Instagram, adding items to the cart in shopping services, editing photos and sending them.
Apple is currently testing these features in its own apps, as well as third-party apps, including AllTrails, Amazon, Facebook, Threads, Temu, Uber, WhatsApp, and YouTube. For services that handle sensitive information, such as banking apps, the company is considering limiting or completely eliminating support for the new features.
Apple held the first demonstration of the updated Siri at the WWDC 2024 conference, where the main topic was the artificial intelligence system Apple Intelligence. In March 2025, it became known that the company was postponing the launch of Siri, explaining this by the need for additional time to implement the declared capabilities.
After the release of the iPhone 16, Apple faced criticism for a commercial featuring Bella Ramsey that showed Siri features that were not available to users. As a result, the company was accused of false advertising.
