NVIDIA will continue to support GeForce drivers for Windows 10 until October 2026
NVIDIA has announced that it will update its Game Ready drivers for Windows 10 until October 2026 — a year longer than the official support period for Microsoft's operating system itself, The Verge reports.
The new Game Ready Driver expands support for Windows 10 devices with GeForce RTX graphics cards. The company promises to provide updates with optimizations for new games and applications. This will allow users to stay on Windows 10 longer without losing driver updates.
Despite Microsoft's plans to end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, the system remains one of the most widespread: only recently did Windows 11 overtake it in terms of the number of users — 52% versus 44.6%, respectively.
Additionally, NVIDIA will continue to release quarterly security updates for older graphics cards based on the Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta architectures until October 2028. However, support for these GPUs in future versions of the CUDA Toolkit will be discontinued.
Among other things, the new driver update adds support for 62 more G-Sync displays, as well as performance improvements in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Mafia: The Old Country, which will be released on August 8, 2025.
