Google's new budget smartphone, the Pixel 9a, officially announced last month, isn't available for pre-order yet, but a teardown video has already appeared on YouTube. The authors of the PBKreviews channel showed off the device's internals, highlighting its good repairability.

The back of the Pixel 9a is made of plastic and comes off relatively easily after a little heat. Underneath the panel is a motherboard cover with coils for wireless charging and NFC. To remove it, you need to unscrew 16 small screws. The battery, the largest of any Pixel model, is glued with a very strong adhesive, which makes it difficult to replace, although isopropanol helps to solve this problem.

One of the design advantages is the ability to replace the screen without removing the back panel, which greatly simplifies the process. There is also protection for the microphone holes from damage if the SIM card tool is used incorrectly.

The Pixel 9a has a repairability score of 7.5 out of 10, making it easy to maintain. The smartphone will go on sale on April 10.
