At the Make with Notion event, the company unveiled its first AI agent that uses all pages and a user's database as context. The agent automatically generates notes and analytics for meetings, competitor analysis reports, and feedback pages.
Notion said the agent can create pages and databases or update them with new data. Users can also launch the agent from other platforms connected to Notion, for example to form a bug tracking dashboard from Slack, email or Google Drive.
The new agent expands Notion AI’s capabilities, which previously could only search or summarize information. It can now perform complex multi-step tasks that can take up to 20 minutes across hundreds of pages. Users can customize the agent’s “profile,” specifying the output style, data sources, and where tasks should be updated. The agent can also “remember” important moments that will be stored in the profile and edited as needed.
Demo videos have shown agents preparing meeting notes, website reviews, restaurant trackers, and competitor reports. Currently, all actions must be triggered manually, but Notion plans to add the ability to run automatically on a schedule or trigger, as well as pre-made templates for quick setup.
Recall that over the past two years, Notion has added a calendar, an email client, a meeting note-taking tool, and enterprise search, giving the platform the ability to create automations.
