Microsoft and LG have teamed up to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to connected cars, with the new feature coming to vehicles equipped with LG’s Automotive Content Platform (ACP).
Drivers with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, a compatible Bluetooth controller, and internet access will be able to launch hundreds of games, including new titles like Doom: The Dark Ages and Forza Horizon 5, directly from their car's multimedia system via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
"At Xbox, we’re always looking for new ways to bring the joy of gaming to more people, wherever they are. Through our work with LG, we are expanding the experience and value of gaming even further for players," said Chris Lee, vice president of Xbox Marketing. "Soon, passengers can access their gaming library and carry their progression with them wherever they go – whether on the road or at home. Bringing Xbox to the in-vehicle experience means every journey is not only more entertaining but supports the flexibility players expect from Xbox."
In addition to Xbox integration, LG will also be adding the Zoom app to its entertainment platform. With LG ACP, drivers and passengers will be able to hold online meetings and manage work directly from the car.
Incidentally, in July, LG also began a collaboration with automaker Kia. The technology company integrated its automotive content platform into the EV3 electric crossover so that passengers could access a variety of streaming services.
