After three months of testing, Apple has released a stable version of the iOS 26 operating system.
The update is available for iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, as well as iPhone SE 2 and later. As for the iPhone 17 series, it will come with iOS 26 out of the box.
The main innovation of iOS 26 is the Liquid Glass design, which adds a translucent, interactive look to the lock screen and apps.
Apple has also updated its default apps in iOS 26. Safari is now full-width, Camera has a simplified interface, and Photos has new tabs — Library and Collections. Meanwhile, tab bars in Music, News, and Podcasts automatically shrink as you browse to focus on the content.
"Phone" also received a single view of "Favorites", "Recents" and "Voicemail", as well as Call Screening and Hold Assist functions, which will not work in Ukraine. iMessage has sender verification, polls in group chats and background themes. CarPlay received visual improvements and smarter notifications.
Other updates include AutoMix and lyrics translation in Apple Music, Places Visited in Maps, and a new Apple Games app that serves as the hub for Apple Arcade.
