Jaguar Land Rover has reported a data breach in a cyberattack that halted car production and impacted the company's operations.
According to the official statement, the attackers gained access to "some data", but the company did not specify whether it was employee, customer or internal company data. According to British law, the company must inform the Information Commissioner's Office of the incident within three days.
The attack was reported on September 2, 2025. The incident forced Jaguar Land Rover to shut down its systems, causing major disruptions to production processes, supply chains, and vehicle repairs.
Jaguar Land Rover is one of the largest employers in the UK, with more than 33,000 employees. According to British media, the government is concerned about the possible economic consequences, as it could take weeks for the company to resume operations.
