There have been a lot of rumors circulating about the foldable iPhone, which is one of the most anticipated new devices from Apple. Of course, one of the important details is its price, and a new report from UBS reveals some details, including that it could be cheaper than the Galaxy Fold7, writes Android Authority.
Investment bank UBS has analyzed the cost of parts for a special Chinese version of the Samsung Galaxy Fold SE foldable smartphone — $790. Meanwhile, analysts predict that parts for the foldable iPhone will cost 4% less — $759. The main aspects where Apple will save a little are memory, camera module, and chipsets.
The Cupertino company will also likely abandon expensive materials that could significantly increase production costs. By the way, it was previously reported that Apple will equip its smartphone with a titanium body and a hinge made of liquid metal.
UBS analysts suggest that the foldable iPhone will cost between $1,800 and $2,000, potentially $200 less than the Galaxy Fold7. In the worst case, the price will be at the level of Samsung's flagship.
The new report contradicts previous estimates of the foldable iPhone's likely price, which were estimated to be between $2,100 and $2,300. This price was calculated based on Apple's current profit margin. As for other rumors about the smartphone, according to insider Mark Gurman, its release will take place in 2027, although some other experts believe that it will be released earlier — in the second half of 2026.
