Apple will release the long-awaited foldable iPhone next year, and it will cost at least $2,000, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman writes.
The foldable iPhone is expected to have a "book" form factor. The foodie says Apple's smartphone will have "fewer creases on the screen" when open. It is also reported that the smartphone will receive a liquid metal hinge for improved durability.
According to analyst Jeff Pu, the device recently entered the new product introduction (NPI) phase at Foxconn, which assembles the iPhone, and its mass production is expected to begin in the second half of 2026.
Inside the foldable smartphone will be the hardware of the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to replace the "Plus" model in Apple's smartphone lineup this year.
According to a recent research note to investors from Barclays Bank, Apple's first foldable iPhone could have a starting price in the $2,300 range in the US, making it the most expensive iPhone model.
