Apple recently released a new ultra-thin iPhone Air model along with the iPhone 17 series, which also includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone Air battery has a relatively modest capacity by modern standards - 3149 mAh, but it turns out that in terms of battery life it surpasses its competitor Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which has a 3900 mAh battery. This is reported by NotebookCheck.

A smartphone video test from the XEETECHCARE YouTube channel shows that the iPhone Air lasts longer than its competitor: 8 hours 57 minutes versus 8 hours 45 minutes for the Galaxy S25 Edge. Although the difference is only 12 minutes, it is worth considering that the Samsung battery is 24% larger.

Tom's Guide's testing of the iPhone Air confirmed these results. In web browsing mode, the smartphone lasted 12 hours and 2 minutes, while the Galaxy S25 Edge lasted 11 hours and 48 minutes. After five hours of streaming video, the iPhone Air's battery remained at 81%, while the Galaxy's was at 67%.

Despite this, the Air showed the most modest battery life results among all models in the iPhone 17 series. According to The Tech Chap, the base iPhone 17 with a 3692 mAh battery was only 12 minutes ahead of the Air — 6 hours 55 minutes versus 6 hours 43 minutes.

As for the leader in autonomy among the tested smartphones, it was the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This indicates that the new smartphones from Apple are quite well optimized and their battery life will definitely not be a weak point.
