Apple introduced the iPhone 17 Pro in September 2025, and this update can be called one of the most interesting modifications of the line in recent years. Unlike the gradual improvements of previous generations, this is not just about a new processor or camera, but a review of the design and logic of the location of key components.
Body and construction
And now for the most interesting part: the iPhone 17 Pro has a single aluminum body made using a milling method, which returns Apple to the unibody design philosophy familiar from the MacBook. It's not just aesthetics: the redesigned chassis architecture has moved the motherboard closer to the center and introduced a new graphite system with an evaporation chamber for effective heat dissipation.
Visually, the so-called "plateau" is striking — a redesigned camera module that now occupies almost the entire width of the rear panel. Part of the body remains aluminum, but the area around the cameras is protected by the new Ceramic Shield 2 glass. This combination of strength and lightness allows you to reduce weight compared to the titanium in the iPhone 16 Pro, and the rigidity of the structure has increased.
Display
The front panel remains the same 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED, but the brightness now reaches 3000 nits (versus 2000 in the iPhone 16 Pro). This is critical for outdoor use. The display still supports ProMotion (120 Hz) and Always-On Display. Integration of the new iOS 26 interface with "Liquid Glass", which makes animations deeper and visually cleaner.
Productivity
The main update is the A19 Pro processor. The CPU architecture has retained 6 cores, but the changes to the GPU have been key: 6 graphics units have received dedicated Neural Accelerators and hardware ray tracing acceleration. For games, this means console-level graphics with realistic reflections and smoke, and for Apple Intelligence, a significant increase in response speed.
Apple moved the system logic to the center of the case for the first time, installing a graphite layer and vapor chamber on top. This distributes the heat load throughout the case, reducing overheating and, as a result, extending the life of the battery and chipset.
Cameras
The iPhone 17 Pro for the first time received three 48 MP Fusion sensors: main, ultra-wide, and telephoto.
The focal length and operating scenarios have been redesigned:
Main camera: 24mm f/1.78.
Ultra-wide: 13 mm, f/2.2.
Telephoto lens: 8X optical zoom.
The front camera is a new 18 MP Center Stage module, capable of switching between portrait and landscape orientation without physically rotating the device.
Battery life
The claimed video playback time is up to 33 hours (versus 27 in the iPhone 16 Pro). Streaming is up to 30 hours. Apple clearly optimized power consumption through the new layout and A19 Pro, rather than by increasing the battery capacity.
Price and positioning
The price in Ukraine starts from 63,999 hryvnias for 256 GB. The most favorable prices for the entire range are offered by the Apple eStore online store. Interestingly, Apple has abandoned the 128 GB version, effectively raising the "entrance ticket" to the Pro segment. This is a simple marketing ploy that actually eliminates the basic amount of memory as a limitation.
The iPhone 17 Pro is not a cosmetic update, but an architectural change. The new body, the A19 Pro with AI and ray tracing acceleration, a redesigned cooling system, and a fully 48 MP camera make it the most serious step forward since the iPhone X and iPhone 12. Yes, the design may seem controversial and the increase in weight is noticeable, but for those who look at the iPhone as a work tool, the 2025 will be a logical choice.
