Instagram has begun testing a new interface that will make the Reels tab the app's main page. Users in India and South Korea are the first to receive the changes, TechCrunch reports.
In the new design, Stories remains at the top of the screen, but the notifications button is moved to the central navigation bar. The Reels tab takes second place, and next to it is the Following tab with three feed display options: All (recommended posts and Reels from followed accounts), Friends (content from friends), and Latest (the latest posts). Switching between tabs is done by swiping.
Meta said the redesign is currently being tested with a limited number of users, but could eventually become available globally. By the way, according to the company, Instagram has crossed the 3 billion monthly active users mark, and a significant part of the growth is provided by the short video format, which is shared 4.5 billion times daily across Meta's various services.
