The long-awaited game Hollow Knight: Silksong, which has been in development for seven years and often caused doubts among players about its existence, has finally received an official release date - September 4, 2025.
According to Gematsu, the game will be released on all current platforms: PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, as well as on PC via Steam, GOG, Humble Store and Microsoft Store. In addition, the game will be available as a Game Pass subscription.
Meanwhile, developers from the Team Cherry studio shared a synopsis of the project and key details.
"As Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, adventure through a whole new kingdom ruled by silk and song. Captured and brought to this unfamiliar land, Hornet must battle foes and solve mysteries as she ascends on a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak."
Players will have to travel to new lands, discover new powers and abilities, fight against huge hordes of insects and beasts, and uncover ancient secrets related to the nature of the main character and her past.
Hollow Knight: Silksong features an all-new realm filled with coral forests, mossy grottoes, gilded cities, and misty wastelands. The sequel also introduces a whole new set of nimble moves, powerful tools, traps, mechanisms, and weapons, engaging quests, and over 150 different enemy types.
