Google has updated the Enhanced Protection feature in Chrome. Now, the PC version of Chrome has a language model called Gemini Nano, which helps detect new types of fraud, such as fake technical support. According to the company, this model works directly on the user's computer and can detect dangers that were not previously detected. This is reported by Engadget.

Google says Gemini Nano is good at recognizing complex websites, allowing it to respond quickly to new scams. The company plans to add the technology to Android devices and eventually use it to combat other types of online threats.

Android users will also get better protection against fraudulent notifications in Chrome. To do this, Google is again using machine learning that works directly on the phone. If the system detects a suspicious notification, Chrome will show a warning and offer to either review it or unsubscribe. If it was a mistaken block, you will be able to allow notifications from that site in the future.

Fighting fraud remains a top priority for Google. For example, last May the company unveiled a new feature that provides real-time fraud alerts during phone calls. It also recently updated its Messages app with new security features. Google says these measures help stop hundreds of millions of fraud attempts before they reach users.
