Google has said that reports of a serious security issue in Gmail are false. The company stressed that it has not sent any mass warnings to all users of the service.
This is a phishing incident against Salesforce, which Google first reported back in June, and on August 8 announced that all victims had received a notification.
"We want to reassure our users that Gmail’s protections are strong and effective," the company said in a statement.
Google said its security tools block over 99.9% of phishing and malware attacks, and recommends using secure alternatives to passwords, such as passkeys, to maximize account security.
