Anker has unveiled the Soundcore Work, an AI-powered voice recorder that can transcribe, summarize, and highlight important moments from conversations. The device is the size of a coin, The Verge reports.
The global release of the device is expected later this year. The diameter of the gadget is only 2.31 cm. The recorder costs $99. For an additional $15.99 per month, users will be able to subscribe to advanced features that have not yet been revealed.
The recorder can be attached to a lanyard or clothing. The novelty weighs only 10 grams, but provides up to eight hours of battery life. If that is not enough, the recorder's charger has its own battery, which extends the operation up to 32 hours.
Audio is recorded through dual microphones with just the press of a button, and double-tapping allows you to mark important moments in conversations, which are then highlighted in transcripts.
Audio recordings are transcribed using GPT-4o , which runs directly on the device and supports over 100 languages. Transcripts and audio recordings are available in the Soundcore mobile app, searchable, and exportable to a variety of formats.
According to Anker, recordings are encrypted and processed locally to maintain privacy, but can be transferred via the cloud to share with others if desired.
