Google Gemini has become the most popular free iPhone app in the US, taking the top spot in the App Store. Its popularity is largely due to its new image editing model, Nano Banana, which has quickly gone viral, 9to5google reports.
Since the model launched on August 26th to September 9th, Gemini has attracted over 23 million new users and Nano Banana has edited over 500 million images. This model stands out for its ability to preserve the likeness of characters in a photo, allows you to upload multiple photos to create new ones, transfer styles, and perform step-by-step editing through dialogue with AI.
In the App Store rankings, Gemini is followed by ChatGPT, and Threads is in third place. Other Google products also have high positions: Google Search is sixth, Google Maps is eighth, Chrome is thirteenth, and Gmail is twenty-first.
In other countries, Gemini also holds high positions: in Ukraine, the application also ranks first, and in the UK and Canada, it ranks second.
By the way, for users without a subscription, Nano Banana can edit up to 100 images per day, and subscribers with a paid plan ($19.99+ per month) can process up to 1,000 images daily.
