Google has officially launched Gemini on Google TV, starting with the new TCL QM9K series. These are the first models with the AI assistant integrated, but the company plans to expand availability later this year, Engadget reports.

Gemini will be available on Google TV Streamer devices, as well as select Hisense and TCL models. Google also promises to add more features for TVs in the future.

The company first demonstrated Gemini integration for TVs at CES 2025. Unlike the classic Google Assistant, the new AI assistant supports free-form dialogue in natural language. It can be activated by voice or the microphone button on the remote.

Gemini lets you find content based on complex queries, such as: "Find something to watch with my wife: I like dramas, she likes light comedies." You can also get a short recap of the previous season of a series, read reviews, or see which new releases are being discussed the most.

Gemini’s capabilities go beyond content search. The assistant can explain educational topics, offer video tutorials on new skills, or recipes with step-by-step videos. After an answer, the user can ask clarifying questions, getting more context.
