Earlier this year, Google added the ability to edit images to Gemini, and now it's releasing an update that allows the chatbot to do this in detail using natural language.
The company notes that an important element when editing images is to preserve the authenticity of people, animals, and elements. That's why with the update, the company focused on preserving the original likeness of people despite any additional changes.
To take advantage of Gemini's new features, users simply need to provide a photo and indicate the changes they want to make. The chatbot will be able to combine photos to place themselves or other people in the shot, change the background to any point in the world, or edit the image in any other way.
Among other things, Gemini supports multi-step editing. Users will be able to continue changing images by gradually executing requests. For example, first the bot can paint the walls in a room in a photo, then add shelves, and finally add your photo. In addition, Gemini will allow you to apply different styles to different elements within a single image.
Try this updated image editing experience in Gemini today. All images created or edited in Gemini include a visible watermark, as well as an invisible digital watermark, SynthID, to clearly show that they were generated by artificial intelligence.
