Garmin has introduced the Fenix 8 Pro, the world's first smartwatch with inReach technology for LTE and satellite communications, as well as the first in the series of watches with a MicroLED display.
Designed for those who don't want to carry their smartphone with them all the time, the watch features inReach technology that provides a satellite connection that allows you to send and receive text messages and track your location. With cellular connectivity, the Fenix 8 Pro can be used to make phone calls, send voice messages, share LiveTrack links, and view weather forecasts when connected to LTE.
Fenix 8 Pro now supports SOS. When an alert is triggered, the watch sends a message via satellite or cellular to the Garmin Response Center, where a dedicated team of trained emergency response coordinators are on site at all times. From there, they contact the user, their emergency contacts, search and rescue organizations and other available local resources.
As for the rest, the Fenix 8 Pro has a first-of-its-kind MicroLED display, equipped with over 400,000 individual LEDs and up to 4,500 nits of brightness. According to Garmin, this makes it the brightest smartwatch ever. This provides rich colors and pixel density with wide viewing angles and high readability even under sunlight.
The company also offers an alternative version with an AMOLED display, which, unlike the MicroLED, is available in two sizes — 47 mm and 51 mm. This model has a lower price — $ 1,199 for the smaller version and $ 1,299 for the larger version, while the MicroLED variant costs $ 1,999. Sales start on September 8, 2025.
The AMOLED version will provide up to 27 days of operation on a single charge in smartwatch mode. The Fenix 8 Pro with a MicroLED display will work significantly less - only 10 days. All versions have a titanium frame, sapphire crystal glass and a silicone strap, as well as the full set of Garmin features for tracking sports and health.
