Forza Horizon 6 could be announced at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Insider documents and a since-deleted post from an Australian car import company hint that the next installment in the series could take place in Japan and feature more Japanese cars, Windows Central reports.

Forza Horizon 5, which was released in 2021, featured over 800 unique cars and became one of the most successful installments in the series. However, many players found the Mexico map uninteresting, and the Japanese setting in the next installment could remedy that shortcoming by adding more diverse landscapes, iconic routes, and local car culture.

The game is being developed by Playground Games with support from Turn 10 Studios. The developers are using an updated version of the ForzaTech engine, which was used in Forza Motorsport (2023) and the yet-to-be-released Fable reboot. Deeper immersion in drifting and more detailed car controls are expected.

Among other features of the upcoming game is a new approach to post-launch support. Unlike FH5, where monthly updates often seemed insignificant, Forza Horizon 6 should receive diverse and meaningful updates that will expand the gaming experience.

Forza Horizon 6 will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game will also be available on Game Pass from day one of release. A PlayStation version, given the success of Microsoft games on Sony's platform, is also expected, but likely 6-12 months after release.
