Playground Games has officially confirmed that the next installment in the Forza Horizon series will be released in 2026 and will be dedicated to Japan. The announcement came unexpectedly — not during the Xbox broadcast at the Tokyo Game Show, but via the official Forza Instagram account, where a teaser appeared with the caption: "Horizon Festival is heading to Japan."

Forza Horizon 6 will be available on Xbox Game Pass on release day and will be supported by the Xbox Play Anywhere program, meaning players will be able to play the game on both Xbox and PC at no additional cost.

2026 promises to be a busy year for Microsoft and its key franchises. In addition to Forza Horizon 6, Gears of War: E-Day, a remaster of Halo: Combat Evolved on Unreal Engine 5, and a new Fable from Playground Games are also expected.

It's worth noting that the release comes just a year after Microsoft unexpectedly released Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation 5. Despite four years since its original launch, the game has become a hit on the PlayStation Store and has made it onto the list of the most popular projects of the year on Sony's console.
